Why a boat tour is one of the most relaxing ways to see Berlin with kids
Discovering Berlin with children is wonderful – but also tiring: long walks, crowded places, tired little feet. On a boat tour, you simply sit back while the boat does the moving and the children watch the water and the city go by. For sixty minutes you see Berlin at a relaxed pace, and the whole family comes back refreshed rather than exhausted.
Under 6s ride free, children pay €11
Children aged 0 to 5 ride free – no separate ticket needed. Children aged 6 to 13 pay €11 instead of €21. A family of four with two children under six pays €42 for the whole tour. Fair prices, no hidden extras.
60 minutes – not too short, not too long
An hour is a length most children manage well: long enough for a real experience, short enough that boredom doesn't set in. Tours of two or three hours are too much for many families, while 30-minute trips don't give you a proper feel for Berlin. Sixty minutes hits the sweet spot.
A seat for everyone
Every guest has a seat – in the covered salon or outside on the upper deck. There is room for strollers in the covered area, and children can stand up, move around and look out of the windows during the tour.
Snacks and drinks on board
Juice, water, soft drinks, coffee and small snacks are available at the bar. You are also welcome to bring your own food – water bottles, pretzels, a snack for the break. There is a toilet on board.
A live guide who talks to kids too
Our live guide adapts the stories to the guests on board. When families with children are on the tour, the guide adds child-friendly stories – about the Berlin bear, the Mühlendamm Lock and more. Children are often the first to ask questions.
